I like to peruse Max Wanger's photographs as time permits, not because I am looking for a photographer for any occasion or because I know anyone in the photos, but because they offer up a gratifying feeling that’s the equivalent of eating a handful of candy after lunch. I don’t recall how I came across this website, but I’m happy I did.
These photos are shot in such a fascinating way. The colors and unique angles remind me of Wes Anderson’s films, which are near and dear to my heart (maybe it’s the early folk and rock music, the poignant depiction of troubled individuals in broken families, the dry wit, or the beautiful combination of all three). The other thing these photos have in common with the films is their timeless essence. They are modern, yet vaguely reminiscent of decades past. It’s an interesting quality that has the biting ability to evoke all of the pleasurable things nostalgia has to offer.
